Revisiting the Genius of Fallingwater in This Render by Mahmoud Omar
This Egyptian CG artist recreates the one-of-a-kind exterior design of the house placed on a waterfall by Frank Lloyd Wright.

Globally recognised with its daring cantilevers, the Fallingwater weekend retreat by midcentury American architect Frank Lloyd Wright is a work of genius. It was labelled by Time Magazine as the architect’s ‘most beautiful job’, listed by the Smithsonian in the ‘Life List of 28 Places to See Before You Die’, and named by the American Institute of Architects as the ‘best all-time work of American architecture’. Egyptian CG artist and architect Mahmoud Omar has recreated its one-of-a-kind exterior in a crisp render that allows us to see firsthand how it redefined the relationship between architecture, man and nature.
When the homeowners commissioned Wright to design the house opposite to a waterfall in the Laurel Highlands of Southwest Pennsylvania, he opted instead to build it partially over the waterfall, resulting in a living experience that features endless sounds of water crashing and dramatic scenery. Omar opted to focus on the exterior in his modelling, showcasing the terraces of the house which form complex horizontal protrusions that are parallel to the floor.
Bricks create strong patterns on the exterior, windows open up at the corners and a fireplace acts as the heart of the house with a rock breaking into it to further connect the interior with its surroundings. With an accurate sense of scale and proportion, Omar represented Wright’s philosophies of organic architecture.
