Morning Magic in Sand Houses by Cairo-Based Alchemy Architecture
Minimalism meets the Mediterranean sea with an edge of monumentality.
There’s something captivating about waking up in one of Seashell’s Sand Houses on Egypt’s North Coast. Part of the G Hotel, the Sand Houses were designed by Cairo-based Alchemy Architecture - as is the case with the entire development.
The design is minimalist, with clean, linear forms in white, punctuated by sandstone walls that bring a warm, textured contrast to the space. It’s a balance that feels both modern and timeless.
In the early hours, the house almost feels like it’s part of the landscape. Birds find their perch on the architectural ledges, adding life to the stark lines. The plunge pool surrounding the house catches the morning light, its surface moving gently with the breeze. It’s a calm moment that makes you pause and appreciate the simplicity of it all.
Inside, the interiors by MF Associates, an Alchemy brand, are a lesson in understated elegance. The spaces are calm and considered with a focus on natural materials and unhindered views of the Mediterranean. The bedrooms, in particular, are designed to frame the sea in all its glory, offering a peaceful retreat where the outside world feels both far away and within your grasp.
