Kenda Cairo Creates a Coastal Showcase for Egypt’s Homegrown Designers
Kenda Cairo's seasonal showroom showcases Egyptian craftsmanship.
If walls could talk, Sahel homes would have plenty to say. Every handcrafted object, every ceramic piece and every sofa has the potential to tell a story about the people who chose it. Kenda Cairo's new seasonal showroom on Egypt's North Coast is built around that idea, bringing together Egyptian brands that place craftsmanship and character at the heart of summer living.
Located between Seashell and Amwaj on Egypt’s North Coast, Kenda’s new concept store is designed as a vibrant summer destination. The exterior sets the tone with earth-toned stone, lush greenery and a calming water feature, creating a natural transition into the colourful interiors beyond.

Inside, the space unfolds through a series of furnished rooms that bring together furniture, ceramics, textiles and decorative pieces by Egyptian brands. Styled to resemble lived-in homes rather than traditional showroom displays, allowing visitors to imagine how these pieces could come together in their own homes.
The showroom brings together different expressions of Egyptian craftsmanship through collaborations with local brands, each contributing its own perspective to the space. Efreshli displays its curated settings that showcase how furniture and decorative pieces can come together in a home. Ellie adds handcrafted pottery and ceramics, introducing colour, texture and artisanal detail, while Handmade brings crochet pieces that embody the colours and textures of beach days, designed to embrace the traces of salt, sand and coastal living.

"We hope visitors leave with an appreciation for craftsmanship. The showroom reflects the North Coast lifestyle through a relaxed approach to interiors, with furniture influenced by Egyptian heritage and adapted for contemporary homes," says Karim Swelim, CEO of Kenda Cairo.
Kenda’s collections draw on Egyptian heritage, referencing Nubian, Pharaonic and Islamic traditions through forms, patterns and details reinterpreted for contemporary interiors. The brand’s bespoke approach allows pieces to be customised to suit individual homes, allowing homeowners to create spaces that feel personal. Bright reds, vivid blues and other expressive hues drawn from traditional Egyptian motifs bring a sense of warmth and playfulness to the collections, translating the colours of heritage into a vibrant summertime palette suited for the relaxed atmosphere of the North Coast.
