Leopelle Brings Laminated Leather Dazzle to DE.CI’s Lazy Boy

Nothing screams ‘convenience and comfort’ more than the recliner chair, commonly referred to as ‘lazy boy’. In an effort to make these furniture even more tempting to sit back on and let the day pass away, Leopelle, an Egyptian leather manufacturer, has applied dazzling laminated leather on a recliner chair that has been reconfigured by furniture designers DE.CI.

“The Hypnotic Dot chair was designed to stimulate the sense of vision and shift people’s state of mind,” Ahmed El Gabbas, Leopelle’s Managing Director, tells #SceneHome. While Leopelle has recently introduced the use of shiny laminated leathers in the fashion industry, having worked with the likes of Okhtein to deliver these fabrics on clothing and bags, their latest application has been focused almost entirely on furniture.

During the opening of O1 Mall in New Cairo, DE.CI unveiled their brand new showroom and the Hypnotic Dot was out gathering everyone’s attention as it marked the collaboration between the furniture designers and the leather giant. “It offers a truly immersive and compelling experience that stems from the fusion of art and technology,” El Gabbas adds. The immersion is caused by the almost dizzying black and white design that appears to be endlessly blending with itself, drawing you ever closer the more you look at it.
