Inside an Idyllic Beachfront Home on Egypt’s North Coast
Blending natural elements with modern design, Style Design Architects capture the essence of life by the sea.
Situated on the pristine shores of Egypt’s North Coast, this luxurious summer home in Almaza Bay captures the essence of the Mediterranean with a modern twist. Inspired by the vibrant landscapes of Ibiza and the charm of Greek architecture, the home was designed by Cairo-based Style Design Architects to offer a serene retreat.
Every detail in the house is crafted to enhance the connection between the indoor and outdoor environment. The design concept draws heavily from the free-spirited, bohemian vibe of Ibiza while embracing clean and elegant characteristics.
The result is an airy, light-filled space that feels intimately connected to its natural surroundings. With an emphasis on essential elements, the home strips away the unnecessary, achieving a delicate balance of beauty, functionality, comfort, and sustainability.
The architecture is rooted in simplicity, with large, strategically placed openings that invite natural light and sea breeze into every corner, allowing the indoor and outdoor spaces to flow effortlessly together.
The reception and dining areas form the heart of the home, merging seamlessly to offer unobstructed views of the sea. The interiors are minimalist, featuring neutral tones and textures that perfectly complement the coastal setting.
Crafted as personal sanctuaries, the bedrooms reflect the unique personality of their occupants while maintaining harmony with the home’s overall design. Muted colours, clean lines and organic materials create a soothing atmosphere in each room.
The outdoors serve as an extension of the indoor living areas, designed to be uncomplicated and naturally integrated into the environment. A pergola provided a shaded spot for relaxation, with white camouflage shades creating a dynamic interplay of light and shadow throughout the day.
The surrounding pool area and garden, planted with native flora, further enhance the home’s connection to its natural surroundings. Rustic elements like the outdoor shower and pool house add charm and reinforce the feeling of living in harmony.
Materials played a crucial role in defining the home’s aesthetic. Locally sourced terrazzo is used for flooring, providing a contemporary interpretation of traditional materials, while neo-cement in the bathrooms adds a sleek, minimalist touch. Weathered wood and natural textiles in the furniture and decor bring warmth and texture to the space, while bamboo is used in the outdoor shower and pool area to enhance the rustic, organic feel. The restrained colour palette allows the beauty of the organic materials to shine.
