Luxury Fabrics Store Design Emporium is Hosting a Special Xmas Sale

Oftentimes the difference between ‘lovely’ and ‘luxury’ comes down to fabrics. And since we’re talking luxury, one of Egypt’s most famous establishments for lush fabrics and wallpapers, Design Emporium, has a special little something up their sleeve for the holiday season. They’re hosting a special Christmas sale, offering discounts on select items from their winter collection on December 15th and December 16th.

Customers will be able to see new cushion collections from luxury home brands like Christian Lacroix and John Derian, as well as a line from Design Emporium that uses imported fabrics to create Egyptian-style cushions made by local NGO, The Right to Live Association. The cushion line revives an old Design Emporium tradition, selling patchwork pieces handcrafted by the same non-profit organization.

Founded in 1991 by famed interiors guru Aziza Molyneux-Berry Nee El Tanani, who passed away last year, the design destination is now run by her son Karim Molyneux-Berry. “The first death anniversary for my mother is coming up, marking an entire year of us running Design Emporium without her,” Molyneux-Berry tells SceneHome. “We hope that this event brings together all our dear customers, introduces us to new ones, and gathers us to celebrate Christmas and the New Year.”

The sale will also introduce a ‘wallpaper as art’ concept, which frames beautiful wallpaper designs as pieces of hanging wall decor. The two-day event will bring on Zamalek eatery Granita’s French-inspired dishes. Fun fact, the restaurant’s interiors are actually decorated with Design Emporium’s products.

The store works with over 300 interior designers worldwide and 30 iconic design retailers including Osborne & Little, Designers Guild, Nina Campbell, Casamance, William Yeoward, Cole & Son, Watts of Westminster, The Royal Collection, Ralph Lauren and more.

The Christmas sale will run from noon until 8 PM at their Baehler’s Mansions store on 26th of July St in Zamalek.
