ElGhoneimi International Designs World’s First Hotel Indigo Residences

Leading hospitality design experts El Ghoneimi International have been charged with shaping Hotel Indigo Mountain View North Coast, home to the world’s first Hotel Indigo branded residences. With the international studio at the helm of the project’s entire design team, its remit stretches from masterplanning and architecture to the interiors of both hotel and residences. Developed by Mountain View, the project also brings IHG Hotels & Resorts’ Hotel Indigo brand to Ras El Hekma.

The scale of the commission speaks to an approach El Ghoneimi International has been refining since 1983: hospitality shaped by the particularities of place rather than a prescribed house style. Among its extensive portfolio are the restoration of Sofitel Legend Old Cataract Aswan, Hilton Aqueduct in Old Cairo, Moxy Cairo Lazoghly, Dusit Thani Al Khobar in Saudi Arabia and the hospitality components of Cairo’s Maspero Triangle, each responding to a markedly different cultural and architectural context.

At Ras El Hekma, that context is the Egyptian Mediterranean. It is an approach that sits naturally with Hotel Indigo’s own place-led philosophy, where each property draws its character from its surroundings. With El Ghoneimi International carrying that thinking from the scale of the masterplan through to the interiors, the Ras El Hekma project becomes a particularly complete expression of the studio’s approach to hospitality design.
