Renowned for consistently drawing inspiration from ancient Egyptian heritage, Egyptian designer Shosha Kamal has once again found a way to blend art, design and culture to create her latest royalty-inspired collection. The Tut Collection, aptly named to honour the centenary of the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb, celebrates a 4,000-year-old design legacy rooted in the heritage of ancient Egypt.

The Tut Collection draws from the ancient world's rich history, acknowledging the profound influence of Egypt's first civilization on modern product design. Ancient Egyptians were pioneers in transforming everyday living, moving humanity from sitting on rocks to crafting sophisticated chairs and from sleeping on the ground to luxurious beds. This remarkable evolution is encapsulated in the timeless elegance and functional artistry of Kamel's latest creations.

In designing this collection, Shosha Kamel aims to bridge the past and present, infusing contemporary spaces with the timeless values and aesthetics of Ancient Egypt. The chairs feature subtle yet powerful lines that flow seamlessly, reminiscent of their local origins, and evoke a sense of nostalgia and pride.

The true power of this design lies not just in its historical inspiration but in its universal appeal. Each piece in the collection boasts a unique curvature and a variety of wood finishes, creating a symphony of design that harmonises with any interior. The three-legged chair, in particular, orchestrates a distinctive elegance, making it a perfect addition to modern spaces while maintaining a connection to its ancient roots.
