Catfish is the Funkadelic IG-Worthy Local Mirror Brand

Catfish’s nostalgic mirrors encapsulate the unkemptness and more laid-back feel of trendy interiors circulating in every 20-year-old's future penthouse Instagram folder.

Having started Catfish six months ago, 23-year-old Nabila Rashed saw a market lacking in Gen Z luster, and decided to inject it with that 70s retro, Pinterest-board-worthy aesthetic. What started as the initiative to express her love for music, art, and all things design, has now turned into a full-time business.

“These art forms are interconnected, and this new wave of culture informs product design, so I think it's important to create things that reflect the time and culture we’re living in right now- things that feel young and fresh,” Rashed tells #SceneHome. “I want to find my benches in music videos and editorial shoots, but I also want to see my tables in family living rooms. I really just want to make something for everyone.”

Catfish’s mirrors encapsulate the unkemptness and more laid-back feel of trendy interiors circulating in every 20-year-old's future penthouse’ Instagram folder, as Rashed herself describes them.

“‘Catfish’ is not that deep. Even the name is kind of making fun of the concept of the brand itself, and the way in which we present ourselves in a made-up or unrealistic way,” Rashed explains. “I just want to make fun, unpretentious, vibrant objects without taking myself or the objects too seriously! It's all about decentralizing cool things!”

The extensible pastel hues of these nostalgic mirrors are the demure embellishment every Sahel chalet calls for and every Indie girl bedroom requires. The hand-held sizes are almost too perfect to resist, allowing you to place one-off decorative moments or a collection for a mosaic of funky mirrors.
